What the demo above is doing

Most capture apps give you back what you said. Enkily gives you back what you meant to do about it. The difference shows up when a single sentence contains more than one thing, which is how people actually talk.

The sentence

Remind me to call the dentist tomorrow, pick up milk on the way home, oh and journal that I finally shipped the Henderson proposal. Really proud of that one.

What comes out of it

Three separate things, from one sentence, with no tagging and no cleanup afterwards. The reminder and the task go to the app you already use. The memory stays searchable, so you can ask for it months later without having filed it anywhere.

Why one sentence is the hard case for most apps

Siri and most reminder apps expect one clear command at a time. Say the sentence above to them and you get one reminder, or a request to try again. The rest of what you said is gone unless you repeat it piece by piece, which means you did the sorting yourself. Enkily treats mixed thoughts in one breath as the normal case. You don’t say “new reminder” or “add to list”. You just talk.

Other things the same capture can hold

The demo shows a reminder, a task and a memory. The same single capture can also hold:

You can choose which Apple Reminders list each kind lands on in Settings. Typing works the same way as talking.

What happens weeks later: you ask

The memory card in the demo is the part that pays off later. Ask Enkily something like “what was I proud of last month?” or “what did I say about the dentist?” and it answers from your own captures, searching by meaning rather than exact words, and shows which capture the answer came from. Ask about something you never told it and it says it has nothing saved about that yet. It doesn’t guess.

Where a capture starts

The demo starts in the app, but you rarely have to open it. Captures start from the Home Screen or Lock Screen widget, the Capture button in Control Center (iOS 18 and later), an Action Button shortcut on iPhones that have one, or Siri: “Hey Siri, capture in Enkily.” Each opens straight to a listening mic.

What it doesn’t do

Enkily isn’t a meeting or lecture recorder, and it doesn’t replace Apple Reminders or Calendar. It sits in front of them. Today it routes to Apple Reminders and Apple Calendar only; other task apps aren’t connected yet. When it isn’t sure what you meant, you can open the card and edit it.

What leaves your phone

Speech is transcribed on your iPhone with Apple’s Speech framework, so no audio leaves the device. The text is sent to Anthropic’s Claude to be split into those cards, only after you agree to it in the app. Captures are never sold and never used to train models. Privacy policy.

Enkily is on the App Store for iPhone: free for 7 days, then $7.99 a month or $69 a year. More on the idea behind it: the brain dump app, Enkily for ADHD, and what a voice capture app should do.
